Most fonts are drawn for screens and printers. Then you send one to a laser or a vinyl cutter and find out what that means: the middle of every O falls on the floor, the house numbers you cut are unreadable from the sidewalk, and the name sign you spelled out is now eleven loose letters you get to glue to a backer.
I got tired of fixing those problems one project at a time, so I drew three fonts that fix them at the font level. They are in the shop now as instant downloads: Kerfline, Curbmark and Linkrail, plus a bundle of all my fonts.
Kerfline: A Stencil Font That Keeps Its Centers
Kerfline is a modern geometric stencil font. Every letter is bridged, so the centers of A, B, D, O, P, R, 8 and the rest stay put. You won't have to glue floating pieces back in.
It comes in two styles. Regular has fine bridges for letters about 1.5" and up. Wide Bridge doubles the bridge width for small text, vinyl, cardstock and paint stencils, where a thin bridge would tear.
- 2 font styles (.ttf for Windows and Mac) and 2 web fonts (.woff2)
- SVG alphabet sheets, every character ready to cut at 1" cap height
- 110 single-character SVG files, for cutters and apps that can't use installed fonts
- A PDF guide with the character map, bridge widths for every size and install steps
Characters: A–Z, 0–9 and a set of punctuation. It's all caps, so typing lowercase gives you capitals, and kerning is built in.
Curbmark: Address Numbers You Can Read From the Street
Curbmark is a bold, wide, evenly weighted address font. The numbers are drawn so they don't get confused with each other: the 1 has a foot, the zero is oval, the 6 and 9 have open tails, and the 3 is open where the 8 is closed.
Two styles again. Regular is solid, for vinyl decals, painted numbers and numbers cut out as separate pieces. Plate is bridged, for numbers cut through a plaque or sign, so the centers of 0, 6, 8, 9 and letters like A, B, O and R stay attached.
Sizing: at 4" tall, Curbmark's stroke is 0.66" thick. Many towns require house numbers of at least 4" with a 0.5" stroke, so check your local rules. For mailboxes, USPS has long called for numbers at least 1" tall in a contrasting color.
The download includes digit cut sheets (0–9 at 3" tall in both styles), full-set cut sheets at 1.5" sized for a 19.5 × 11" laser bed, 90 single-character SVGs and a PDF sizing guide with mailbox and house-number tips.
Linkrail: Name Signs That Cut as One Piece
Linkrail is a connected rail font. Every letter stands on a shared rail that overlaps its neighbors, so you type a name, weld it, and cut it as a single piece. No backer board, and nothing goes missing behind the workbench.
Use an underscore instead of a space to keep the rail running between words (MR_&_MRS), and there is a heart (♥) for wedding and family signs. Every letter and every two-letter combination has been checked by script to weld into one piece.
The download has the font and web font, an alphabet cut sheet, 40 single-character SVGs, pre-welded sample words (THE_SMITHS, MR_&_MRS, WELCOME, HOME, FAMILY, EST._2026) and a PDF guide showing how to weld in Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio, Inkscape, Illustrator and LightBurn. Glowforge users: design and weld your text in one of those programs, or use the pre-welded SVGs, then upload the SVG.
Which License Do You Need?
Etsy doesn't let a digital download change price by option, so each font is listed three times, once per license. The files are the same; the listing title tells you which license you bought, and it shows on your receipt.
| License | One font | All-fonts bundle | Covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal | $5 | $24 | Gifts, home decor, school projects and crafts you don't sell |
| Commercial | $12 | $58 | Everything in Personal, plus selling physical products made with the font (up to 5,000 items), client work, ads, packaging and one website |
| Extended | $35 | $168 | Everything in Commercial, plus unlimited sales, unlimited websites, and use in logos, trademarks and brand identity |
If you sell what you make, you want Commercial. Reselling or sharing the font or SVG files themselves is never allowed at any level. The bundle gets you all six of my fonts (these three plus Bitround, a CNC router font, Pegnest, a name puzzle font, and Plystack, a layered sign font) for about 20% less than buying them one at a time, in one download.
Works With
Any program that uses installed fonts: Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio, LightBurn, Inkscape and the Adobe apps. For anything else, there are the SVG files. If you're not sure how SVG fits into your workflow, the laser file formats explainer covers it.
How They're Made
I designed these fonts with the help of AI tools and refined them in my shop. They are instant digital downloads; nothing physical ships.
