Most task management apps make a choice: you get a list, or you get a Kanban board, or you get a Gantt chart. You rarely get all of them — and when you do, three of the five are afterthoughts bolted on to justify a higher pricing tier.
KnotDo starts from the opposite premise: build every view correctly from the start, make them all useful, and let you switch between them without losing context. The same tasks, same data — just rendered the way the work actually calls for.
Five Views, One App
Every view in KnotDo is a first-class feature — not a demo, not a upsell, not a limited version of what the paid tier unlocks. Here's what's available:
Built for Teams (and Solo Use Too)
KnotDo supports team collaboration — assign tasks to members, comment, track changes, and see who's working on what. The real-time sync keeps everyone's views consistent without requiring a refresh.
But it's also clean enough for solo use. If you're a single person who just wants a Gantt view for your personal project pipeline, KnotDo doesn't require you to set up a workspace, invite a team, or navigate an enterprise-grade settings panel to do it.
Offline Support
Tasks are available offline. If you lose your connection — on a plane, in a basement, on a spotty connection at a conference — KnotDo keeps working. Changes sync when you reconnect. No "unable to load" screens, no lost work.
This is table stakes that a lot of modern web apps don't bother with. KnotDo does.
REST API
KnotDo includes a full REST API. You can create, read, update, and delete tasks programmatically — useful for:
- Integrating with other tools in your stack
- Automating task creation from scripts or webhooks
- Building custom dashboards or reporting
- Syncing data with external systems
The API follows standard REST conventions. Documentation is available to beta users.
Data Import & Export
Your data is yours. KnotDo supports import and export so you can bring in tasks from other tools and take your data out whenever you want — no vendor lock-in.

What's the Beta Like?
KnotDo is in active development and private beta. All five views are live and functional. The REST API is available to beta users. Team collaboration is working. Offline support is in.
Beta users get direct feedback access — if something is broken or missing, it gets fixed. That's the point of a beta and the advantage of working directly with the person who built it.
The other apps in the VARØ suite — Notesmith for collaborative docs and MakerManifest for gear lists — are live and open. KnotDo follows the same philosophy: build the thing that should exist, make it work correctly, ship it when it's ready.
